Improving Belarusian Power System Operational Reliability in The Developing Nuclear Power Industry
Kashin M.A. (RUE “Belenergosetproekt”) Novikov N.L. (JSC “STC FNC UES”) Novikov A.N. (STC “Energobezopasnost”)
Abstract. Alongside with the Belarusian NPP commissioning, at present, there are changes in the external interconnections in the Belarusian power system. To maintain a required power reserve, it is relevant to regulate the active power flows between 330 kV and 750 kV transmission networks of the backbone grid. The article summarizes the computed results of the experiments which confirm the efficiency of a phase shifting transformer use in the Belarusian power system.

Matrix-based Switchgear Reliability Calculation Procedure
Nazarychev A.N. (Saint Petersburg State University) Sulynenkov I.N., Melnikova O.S. (Ivanovo State Power Engineering University)
Abstract. The article describes the matrix-based procedure of switchgear reliability calculation, which could be used for different power facilities. The calculation order according to the proposed procedure is shown by example of a pilot substation of a distribution network. Numerical figures of initial matrices as well as intermediate and desired matrices obtained in the course of conversions following the procedure are provided. The following reliability indices were calculated: the communication outage rate, the substation consumer outage rate and the power exchange disturbance rate. Possibility of a relevant software development for the matrix-based procedure application for switchgear reliability calculation has been shown.

POWER QUALITY
Means and Methods of Reducing the Impact of RES on Deterioration of Energy Quality and Power Supply Reliability in the Process of Transition to Green Energy
Khalezin D.A., Dvorkin D.V. (JSC “STC UPS”)
Abstract. The RES-based energy generation comprises conversion of DC into AC (DC/AC) and AC into DC (AC/DC) that influences the form of the voltage curve. Due to higher harmonics current flows it leads to deterioration of the energy quality (EQ) and decrease of consumer power supply reliability. Evidently, the growing use of RES increases the potential risks. Put it otherwise, the growing use of RES prompts to consider such issues that have never been considered in design of power output diagrams of conventional power plants: beginning from the generated energy quality itself and ending with reduced power supply reliability due to deteriorated energy quality but not the specific structure of available and future networks. The article gives a review of methods of solving the problem of RES impact on the energy quality and power system operation reliability.
Keywords: energy quality, energy quality indices, harmonics, voltage asymmetry, power output diagram, renewable energy sources, power supply reliability
About an Effective Means of Reducing the LED Lamp Emission Level in a Fundamental Frequency Higher Harmonics Network
Tukshaitov R.Kh., Zaripov R.K. (Kazan State Power Engineering University)
Abstract. The article describes an effective method of decreasing the level of fundamental frequency higher harmonics emission in conditions of using LED lamps – the loads with a high non-linear factor. It has been shown that it could be done by 7-10 times. Decrease of higher harmonics emission is achieved via parallel connection of a load to a capacitor input which reactive power is two times higher than that of the load.

Abstract. The article considers the problem of assessing the impact of pulse effects on the transformer substation buses, causing overvoltages on the induction motor input. A simulation model of an induction motor and a supply cable based on their substitution diagrams has been developed. The values of overvoltages and current surges at the motor inlet have been obtained and their influence on the technical resource has been determined.
