Integration Platform for Process Control of Electrical Networks Based on PC-20 Software

Abstract. The article touches upon the methodology of design and construction of the integration platform based on PC-20, the Russian software that enables solving the problem of heterogeneous software and improvement of electrical network process control quality. Description of the integration model is provided, information flows are studied. The unified information model standards underpin the digital model provided. Design of the data acquisition and aggregation system and the architecture of PC-20 integration platform are considered. Main benefi ts of PC-20 introduction for a grid company, the state and the consumers are listed in the conclusion.

Electric Network Load Optimization by Means of Differentiated Process Connection Tariffs

Abstract. The article tackles upon mechanisms of load optimization in the electrical circuit diagram aimed for reducing energy costs and tariffs. The grid company’s cost minimum correlates with the criteria of equality of the sum of relative increase of network maintenance and energy loss costs. From the point of efficiency improvement the process connection tariffs are proposed to be differentiated by node relative increases. Low process connection tariffs should attract new consumers to the nodes with available capacity reserves and low losses. In overloaded nodes with low reserves and high losses the process connection tariffs are not attractive due to high values. Feasibility of the approach is shown via numerical examples.

Increasing the Voltage Stability of Complex Power Systems Using Adaptive Intelligent Automation Models on the Example of the Northern Part of the Irkutsk Region Power System

Abstract. As practice shows, the principles of the existing structure of emergency control in the UES of Russia as a means of preventing voltage instability do not allow performing the correct emergency control in off-design modes and with abnormal disturbances that occur during blackouts. An effective solution could be to supplement the existing system of emergency control with intelligent complexes. The article proposes the concept of a new intelligent voltage-var automatic control system in the EPS, using multi-agent technologies to prevent voltage instability. The proposed model implements two multi-agent subsystems for adaptive tuning of voltage regulators: a system for adjusting the settings of automatic excitation control of synchronous generators and a virtual power plant-based reactive power compensation system. The effectiveness of the proposed voltage-var automatic control system is demonstrated on the example of a real scheme of the Bodaibo Energy Ring of the northern part of the power system of the Irkutsk region, in which problems with voltage stability may arise. The concept of introducing the proposed voltage-var automatic control system into the existing emergency control system of the UES of Russia is considered.

Calculation of Power Losses in Cables with Voltage Up to 1 kV

Abstract. This article discusses general information about the calculation of power losses in cables with a voltage of up to 1 kV using a calculation method based on the use of a system of relative units. The importance of taking into account the actual values of power losses in the supply and distribution networks is given. The method of determining power losses depending on voltage losses in radial and trunk networks of power supply systems of industrial enterprises using network parameters is considered. The dependences of the losses of active and reactive power of a single-core cable with aluminum cores of various cross-sections in relative units are calculated.

Abstract. The introduction of distributed generation facilities (DG) into existing electric power systems (EPS) in Russia and the world has become a stable global trend and led to the creation of a Smart Grid concept based on environmentally friendly energy sources. The transition from traditional power supply systems (PSS) to intelligent (ISS) of a new generation using new intelligent technologies has led to the emergence of new properties of such systems and the influence of these properties on the flexibility and stability of such systems in case of their emergency isolation for isolated operation. The existing methods and means of increasing the flexibility and stability of PSS with DG in emergency isolation situations do not solve the problem of ensuring reliable power supply to consumers, since the principles of their actions in most cases are associated with disconnecting the load of consumers. In the conditions of increased consumer demands for the reliability of power supply, such an approach is unacceptable for the effective development of the EPS and requires the development of new approaches to coordinate the operation of automation systems in order to minimize negative consequences for consumers. The article proposes the structure of emergency automation (EA) of PSS with DG when allocated to isolated work, based on a new flexible load management technology implemented in the form of emergency load management automation of active consumers (AELCAC). The effectiveness of the proposed structure of the EA operation is demonstrated by analyzing the operation of existing EA devices during the elimination of a system accident that occurred on August 20, 2022 in the united power systems of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the UPS of the East of Russia.

Abstract. This article considers the issues of applying the technology of synchronized phasor measurements to improve control, monitoring, and protection systems of power centers and distribution networks. The authors present the advantages of using the SPM technology and the WAMPAC ideology for automating distribution networks, in particular, for the implementation of a fault location, isolation, and supply restoration system and control, protection, and monitoring system of a power transformer. This article presents the principles of stage-by-stage automation of medium voltage cable and overhead networks, taking into account the use of SPM technology. The authors present new algorithms for operating the power transformer monitoring system.

The article considers a specific economic impact when using the directional current protection of parallel lines as the second main protection instead of differential line protection or phase differential protection in each line to keep stability of power plant (PP) operation. The impact and its amount are illustrated by the example of parallel 110 kV lines in the power system of Volgograd.

Abstract. In September, 2022 on the initiative of Rosseti, PJSC in the Testing center of VEI (the affiliate of Federal State Unitary Enterprise «Russian Federal Nuclear Center – Zababakhin All– Russia Research Institute of technical Physics») comparative tests have been carried out for two circuits of ferro-resonance initiation proposed for being included into the state standard “Instrument transformers. Part 3. Requirements for inductive voltage transformers” for testing of antiresonance characteristics of 110-750 kV voltage transformers (VT). The first circuit is the precise copy of ferro-resonance initiation in conditions of VT tripping performed by a HV circuit-breaker. The second circuit is more simple as ferro-resonance oscillations originate in conditions of short-circuit clearance in the VT secondary winding and a HV circuit-breaker is not used in the test facility. The article provides testing results and recommendations on correction of some provisions of the standard draft.

Study of Electromagnetic Transient Processes in a Submersible Installation for Crude Production with a Downhole Reactive Power Compensator

Abstract. Investigations of electromagnetic transient processes in an electrical system (ES) of a submersible installation for crude production with a downhole reactive power compensator (DRPC) with consideration of a cable line length are provided in this article. A simulation model of submersible installation ES has been designed. Oscillograms of transient processes have been acquired. It has been detected that in conditions of power supply disconnection the inrush current 4,9 times higher than the rated current occurs. After the power supply disconnection the current curve has the oscillating amplitude-attenuating form.
