The paper analyzes domestic and foreign experience and compares the different countries approaches to rationing the power distribution networks reliability. The main indicators of power supply reliability in different countries with respect to outages, approaches for planned values determination and clustering of networks with similar characteristics are considered. Understanding the basic principles of power distribution network reliability regulation applied in foreign countries allows specialists to identify best practices and adapt them to domestic conditions.

The Concept includes essential measures required to ensure the reliable operation of the integrated power grid. We talk to Alexander SALENOV, Head of the Department of Relay Protection, Metrology, and Сomputerized Process Control Systems at PJSC Rosseti, about the top requested technologies and solutions to provide the required level of automation in the power grid sector, as well as Rosseti’s efforts to improve relevant processes, to organize personnel training and to develop common standards in this area.

International Scientific and Technical Conference “Development and Reliability Improvement of Distribution Networks” and Technical Exhibition “EEPiR”

Event review

The conference has been held in Moscow annually since 2015 (except for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Nowdays it is the largest professional power industry business event in Russia aimed at solving topical issues of power distribution networks and exchanging experience between specialized leaders. The conference and the accompanying Technical Exhibition “EEPiR” are organised by PJSC Rosseti and the “ELECTRIC POWER. Transmission and Distribution” journal. The next IX conference is scheduled for July 2024.
