The Mathematic Model of the Electrical Load of the Lead-in Switchgear of a Multi-Apartment House
Morsin I.A., Shvedov G.V. (NRU MPEI, Moscow)
Abstract. Regulatory documents for the design of urban power supply systems in terms of the methodology for determining the design load of multi-apartment residential buildings and the values of the specific loads of apartments have not changed over the past 20 years. In a modern multi-apartment residential building, in addition to the load of apartments and elevators, a significant contribution to the formation of electrical loads on the tires of the input switchgear is made by the loads of smoke ventilation systems, an individual heating point and fire pumps of the internal fire water supply. To update the existing methods for determining the design load of multi-apartment residential buildings, regression models were obtained, by which it is possible to determine the value of the design loads of various categories of loads of the input switchgear (ASU) of an apartment building (MKD) depending on the number of apartments and the number of floors. As a result, a mathematical model was formed to determine the design load of the ASU of a modern MKD, the verification of which showed that the values obtained by the proposed model differ from the real ones within 4%.

Calculation of the Payback Period of Solar Panels Taking into Account the Impact of Inflation
Abdreev K.A. (Kazan State Power Engineering University)
Abstract. Renewable energy, and in particular solar energy, is becoming increasingly popular. This is due to both the increasing environmental problem and the decreasing payback time of solar energy storage equipment. This is primarily influenced by the policy of each individual country, and the development of solar energy technologies. Increasingly, there are questions about the supply of electricity to consumers using solar panels. This would help both to reduce losses on the transportation of electricity and to reduce the environmental impact on the environment. It is also worth remembering that solar panels in a compartment with rechargeable batteries are able to provide system redundancy. In this regard, the paper gave a general view of calculating the payback period of solar energy storage equipment and derived a formula that takes into account the impact of infl ation on it. Also, the features of the voltage and current connection of various equipment and taking into account the specifics of their functioning were indicated.

Method of Sizing Battery Energy Storage Systems for Effective Integration of Power Plants Based on Renewable Energy Sources into Power Systems
Bulatov R.V., Nasyrov R.R., Burmeyster M.V. (NRU MPEI, Moscow)
Abstract. This article is devoted to the application of battery energy storage system (BESS) to ensure the required output of power plants based on renewable energy sources (RES) integrated into power system. The paper presents a model of lithium-iron-phosphate BESS, taking into account the calendar and cyclic degradation, as well as the limitations of the conversion subsystem. Determination of nominal capacity and power of BESS is proposed to be carried out on the basis of two tolerance levels: a given range of power output of a power plant based on RES and the relative time of deviation from the declared power. When selecting BESS parameters, the peculiarities of its operation were taken into account, as well as the limitations of the electric power system (EES). The developed methodology was applied on the model of the EES containing solar (SPP) and wind power plants (WPP). At the end of the article, the analysis of the results obtained is carried out.

Abstract. The article discusses the installation of electricity storage systems (ESS) to existing wind power plant (WPP) and solar power plant (SPP) to preserve the payback period of their construction and also analyzes the current situation on the construction of renewable energy sources (RES) in Russia. Some types of storage devices possible for installation to renewable energy sources are considered. The prospects of using the ESS in order to increase the economic efficiency of WPP and SPP construction projects are evaluated. A technical and economic calculation of the installation of a 20 MW lithium-ion storage unit to the 60 MW Bondarevskaya WPP was carried out.

ELECTRIC POWER METERING
State-of-the-art Network Oriented Methods Non-technical Electricity Losses Detection and Localization
Pazderin A.V., Verkhozin A.M., Mukhlynin N.D., Samoylenko V.O. (Ural Federal University, Ekaterinburg)
Abstract. Non-technical losses shatter economy of distribution utilities causing financial loss. Network oriented methods of non-technical electricity losses detection and localization provide detection costs reduction. Compared with data-oriented methods focused on power consumption profile anomaly detection, network-oriented methods are able to localize non-technical losses invariably due to their relevance with electrical energy balance based on metered values. Depending on calculation procedure, network-oriented methods can be subdivided to the steady state calculation methods and state estimation methods. The paper demonstrates that state estimation methods provide more accurate non-technical losses calculation and localization compared with steady state calculation methods.

Abstract. The proposed method of power system harmonic model development was tested on a selected area of the Ural Interconnected System. In the second part of the article, a description of on-site harmonic voltage measurement program is outlined. Measurements were performed at 110/6 kV substation buses (both LV and HV side). Several patterns of harmonic voltage change were revealed, which made it possible to determine an approach to model validation under the lack of measurements. It is demonstrated that the developed model adequately represents harmonic voltage factors’ variation under different grid topology and load-fl ow conditions. Frequency scan results show that over-limit voltage harmonic distortion recorded at the substation buses could be caused not only by transmission grid topology changes and load-flow variations, but also by capacitor banks operating in adjacent 0,4 kV grid.

Development of the Algorithm and the Model of Optimizing the Number and Installation Locations of Active-Adaptive Sectionilizing Components with Estimation of the Efficiency of Measures Taken in a Distribution Network
Galiev I.F., Yakhin Sh.R., Pigalin A.A., Garifullin M.Sh. (Kazan State Power Engineering University)
Abstract. To date, there is no generally accepted methodology for determining the locations of optimal sectionalization of distribution network (DN) sections. Widespread use in 6(10) kV networks is made of activeadaptive elements with high efficiency: reclosers and load disconnectors that contribute to both self-recovery of DNs in case of unstable faults and automatic localization of stable ones. Implementation of the equipment should take into account the economic feasibility of its installation depending on: the values of the total under-release of electric power (EE); the points of division of the DN, affecting the value of losses; reliability indicators (RI) and cost, allowable payback period of measures. The work is aimed at solving an urgent problem – development of an algorithm and model for optimal selection of the place, type and number of sectionalizing devices in a DC equipped with intelligent EE metering devices. The criteria for decision-making are: frequency and duration of power interruptions, values of under-releases, consumer damages and load losses, while ensuring normal voltage levels at all points of power supply.

Abstract. This article covers the issues related to various ways of corona losses reduction on overhead power lines. Corona losses reduction is achieved by applying a special coating that has a hydrophilic or hydrophobic effect. Experiments were carried out with the following samples: superhydrophobic coating wire; hydrophilic coating wire; wire with sandblasted surface; a sample of uncoated wire after many years of operation. Experimental dependences of energy losses for the corona on the voltage level are obtained under rain.

The Impact of Birds on the Condition and Operating Modes of the Overhead Transmission Line
Pustovaya O.A. (Far-East State Agrarian University, Blagoveschensk)
Abstract. One of the factors that impacts the formation of overhead transmission line (OHL) operating modes is the ornithological fauna. The birds that sit on an OHL tower influence the condition of towers and their components as well as the operating modes. Short circuits caused by overlapping of the air gap between phase wires due to a manure jet and phase-to-phase faults caused by phase short-circuiting via spread wings bring the major negative impact. Such faults are instable and unpredictable. Supplementary technical means like anti-settling devices which efficiency is quite disputable are used to eliminate this negative impact.
