On Ranging the Actions in a Distribution Network Based on the Minimum Cost Factor Criterion of Repair and Investment Costs
Yakhin Sh.R., Galiev I.D., Vasil’ev Yu.A., Garifullin M.Sh. (Kazan State Power Engineering University)
Abstract. This article presents the methodology and the criteria of ranging the actions based on definition of the modernization cost factor in network sections. It also shows the dependence of network development figures from key variables. The methodology reflects the algorithm of calculation and conversion of initial action sheets to perform the ranging based on the cost and the reliability of network components related to the length of grids, section loads, annual average power supply interruptions and power undersupply data. The results of target performance calculation for feeders with overhead transmission lines before and after modernization are provided with regard to its reliability parameters and the cost depending on section lengths. The action ranging is made by the minimum cost factor of the availability time increment (reduction of the power supply interruption time) by example of the feeder trunk section.

The Electric Load Coincidence Factor of Apartment Blocks
Solovyeva A.S., Shvedov G.V. (NRU “MPEI”, Moscow)
Abstract. This article provides the assessment of electric load coincidence factors of apartment blocks by experimental data and the regulatory document RD 34.20.185-94. As initial data, the researchers took the results of every-30 minute-measurement of loads on busbars of input distribution devices of apartment blocks in the Moscow region. The standard values of load coincidence factors of were considerably lower than those calculated by factual data. The results of experimental data processing have shown that the average value of the load coincidence factor of residential buildings is 0,95, the maximum value – 1,0. The load coincidence factor does not practically change for the number of apartments in a residential building within the range of 100-1000.

Determination of the Optimal Number and Locations of Switchgear in 6(10) kV Distribution Networks Based on Equipment Condition Indicators
Rahmatullin R.R., Ferenec A.V. (Kazan National Research Technical University n.a. A.N. Tupolev – KAI)
Abstract. The problem of determining the optimal number and locations of switching devices in automatic power supply restoration systems for 6(10) kV distribution networks remains highly relevant due to the need to achieve target reliability indicators under constrained financial resources and considering the current technical condition of equipment. This study proposes an approach based on modern information technologies to determine the optimal quantity and placement of switching devices (intelligent disconnectors, reclosers) that ensure the required level of power supply reliability for consumers. The methodo logical foundation employs graph theory methods to construct a topological model of the network section and combinatorial algorithms to analyze possible equipment configurations and calculate corresponding reliability indicators. The outcome of this research is a developed model that facilitates the selection of the optimal number of switching devices and their locations to achieve the required power supply reliability standards in 6(10) kV distribution networks.

Assessment of the Influence of Short-Circuits Power on Electric Power Quality Indicators and the Choice of Electrical Equipment in Power Supply Systems
Beley V.F., Korotkikh K.V. (Kaliningrad State Technical University)
Abstract. The paper considers various interpretations of the concept of short-circuit power. The standards of a number of countries are given, which establish a procedure for assessing the admissibility of connection to the point of common connection of the converter type under consideration, depending on the short-circuit power at this point. Measures to increase short circuit power are considered using the example of a three-level power supply system of one of the enterprises. The relation ships between short-circuit power values and power quality indicators were revealed when using energy-saving transformers with lower short-circuit voltage and replacing the section laid by the overhead line with a cable insert.

Abstract. This article provides the results of the study of discharge characteristics of glass insulators dismantled in PJSC Rosseti Moscow Region (Southern grids), which showed specific distribution of pollution from typical sources (major roads) and provided the grounds to judge about the quality of visual monitoring of the line insulation condition. The article describes the methodology of performing laboratory experiments with dismantled insulators and evaluation of the withstand voltage, as well as the methodology of reducing the discharge voltage evaluation results to uniform conditions to estimate the nature of pollution distribution.

CABLE LINES
High Voltage Cable Lines. Transient Processes
Dmitriev M.V. (PEIPK, St. Petersburg)
Abstract. High-voltage cable lines of 6-500 kV classes play an important role in the energy sector. When applying cable lines, the main attention is traditionally paid to such issues as the selection of cable type, justification of sufficient cross-sections of the core and screen, optimization of the bonging/grounding type of the cable screens. These issues are primarily related to the operation of the power supply in nor mal mode or in case of short circuits, however, as is known, numerous transient processes also occur in the network. The article, using several examples, aims to attract specialists to the study of transients in cable networks and their consequences.

Online Measurements and Monitoring of Partial Discharges in High-Voltage Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE) Insulated Cables
Zhivodernikov S.V., Botov S.V., Mylnikov I.B., Ovsyannikov A.G., Skiba D.A. (JSC “Rosseti Electrosetservis”, LLC “Dimrus”, LLC “Udokan Copper”, NSTU, Novosibirsk)
Abstract. The article examines the main causes of insulation damage in cable lines (CL). One of the most effective methods for assessing the condition of cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation in high voltage CL is monitoring partial discharge (PD) characteristics, which accompany and accelerate the development of nearly all types of defects. The most comprehensive data on discharge activity can be obtained by recording PD signals using oscilloscopes, specialized periodic testing equipment, and continuous monitoring systems. An example of comprehensive PD characteristic registration in 220 kV CL insulation is presented. The analysis includes oscillograms, phase resolved partial discharge (PRPD) patterns, and PD intensity trends. A comparison is made between PD characteristics and variations in temperature, relative humidity, as well as the results of thermal imaging inspections of cable terminations. Given the critical role of electrical treeing in insulation breakdown, the article describes its influence on PRPD patterns. In addition to localized electric field enhancement as the primary cause of treeing, the impact of mechanical stresses is also considered. When analyzing PD characteristic trends, it is recommended to account for overvoltage effects, which may trigger or intensify discharge activity.

The Impact of Contribution Currents on Relay Protection Functions with Logical Selectivity and Solutions for Industrial Networks with Motor Loads
Burdukov I.D. (Juru Limited, ITMO University, St. Petersburg)
Abstract. The article focuses on the issues of selectivity and speed of relay protection and automation (RPA) systems in networks with dynamic loads. The features of logical selectivity, the influence of motor contribution currents on the accuracy of protective devices, and methods for optimizing RPA algorithms are considered. Using the example of short-circuit current modeling in the ETAP software for a gas processing plant network, non-standard distributions of contribution currents were identified. Solutions to improve selectivity and reliability of protection are proposed, including the use of directional overcurrent protection (OCP) and adjustment of settings. The research results can be applied in the design of RPA systems for industrial facilities with motor load.
