Bannykh P.Yu., Valiev R.T., Egorov A.O., Lyukhanov E.A., Pazderin A.V. (Ural Federal University n.a. the first President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin, Ekaterinburg) Ryabushev V.A. (PJSC «Rosseti Ural»)
Abstract. The economic efficiency of voltage regulation in electric networks is manifested over long time intervals and is determined by changes in the paid consumption of electricity. When forming measures to reduce electricity and power losses, static load characteristics (SLC) by energy play an important role, linking the consumption of EE with the value of the supply voltage. The difference between SLC by power and by energy is determined by their power control systems. The article presents an economic model of the income of an electric grid organization, formed on the basis of indicators dependent on the voltage level. The results of laboratory tests for the identification of SLC by energy of household electrical appliances are presented. The differences and ratio of the regulatory effects by power and by energy for receivers with different power control systems are studied. The regulatory effect of the communal and house hold load by energy is shown.

Study of Asymmetrical and Non Sinusoidal Modes in the Power Supply System of Railway Traction Considering the Random Nature of Load Variation
Visyashchev A.N., Tiguntsev S.G., Fedosov D.S., Zubova E.V. (Irkutsk National Research Technical University)
Abstract. This article presents a calculation method for determining the power quality indexes characterizing unbalanced and non-sinusoidal modes in the power supply system of railway traction loads, taking into account the random nature of variation in these loads. A description of the calculation method is given for steady-state unbalanced modes at the fundamental frequency and at higher harmonics in a stochastic approach with the Monte Carlo method using the computer software complex «Power Quality». The initial data for the calculation were the results of calculating the equivalent circuit parameters, the probability distributions of phase currents of traction load along the sides of the overhead contact line at a given density of train traffic, and the measured relative values of the currents of the fundamental and higher harmonics. Calculation experiments using the proposed method made it possible to obtain probabilistic characteristics of the unbalance and higher harmonic levels of voltages in all nodes of the power supply system of the traction load in normal and repair modes.

CABLE LINES
The 6-500 kV Cable Line Resistance
Bobrov V.P. (SO UPS, JSC), Dmitriev M.V. (PEIPK, Saint-Petersburg)
Abstract. Nowadays, local and foreign cable industry produces high-quality and highly reliable cables. Unfortunately, this is not a guarantee of the same for cable lines and cable networks being introduced into operation. Smart design, laying and operation of cable lines are as important as manufacturing skills. However, this is where we often lack competence and, therefore, experience the substantial economic losses. This article focuses on determination of the longitudinal resistance of a cable line as an important aspect of any project.
Keywords: cable line, single-core cable, three-core cable, cross-linked polyethylene, screen grounding, screen cross bonding.

Asainov D.N., Gusev Yu.P., Shekari M. (NRU MPEI, Moscow), Komkov A.L. (OOO Elektromash), Filimonov N.Yu. (Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University)
Abstract. During accidents and incidents in a power system (PS) thermal power plants (TPPs) may require being started from a standby power supply source (SBPSS), e.g. an emergency diesel-generator set (DGS). Hard conditions are considered to be the powerful motor start within the TPP auxiliary power supply system, short circuits and the following motor self-start. The progress of transients depends on many factors, including SBPSS equipment characteristics. The devices that are most frequently used for this purpose are DGSs. However, different component sets are available in the market, including diesel motors, synchronous generators and excitation systems (ESs). This article shows results of the study of the impact on transient process progress during the motor start and self-start of the ES type within DGS. The study was carried out in EMTP-RVsoftware set; the results will help in decision-making during design of isolated PSs and purchasing DGSs from different manufacturers.
Keywords: emergency diesel-generator set (DGS), excitation system, motor start, motor self-start, transient process.
DIAGNOSTICS AND MONITORING
The Mobile System of Power Transformer Technical Condition Monitoring
Dar’yan L.A. (JSC Technical Inspection of UPS, NRU MPEI, Moscow), Golubev P.V., Obraztsov R.M., Maksimchenko A.V. (JSC Technical Inspection of UPS)
Abstract. The article describes the first Russian mobile automated system of technical condition monitoring including forecasting of permissible regular loads and emergency overloads as well as the residual life of the internal insulation of power transformers (mobile ASDM). This mobile ASDM is developed and manufactured on the base of “diagnostic” gases and water dissolved in the transformer oil. The developed software provides interpretation of the analysis results according to three regulatory documents – one Russian and two foreign ones – that include six methodologies. The conclusion on technical condition of a power transformer (PT) is made on their base. Distribution of humidity in the internal insulation of a PT is considered. Simultaneously and online, it defines the technical condition index of three PT functional nodes. The mobile ASDM enables a sensible choice of the permissible duration and the ratio of overloads calculated by on line data with regard to operation conditions and the current technical condition of a PT. A prototype of the mobile ASDM has been success fully tested in pilot operation at a JSC DRSK substation.
Keywords: mobile ASDM, monitoring, forecasting, technical condition, regular loads, emergency overloads, analyzer, power transformer, operation.
On the Issue of Non-Contact Laser Vibration Diagnostics of Power Transformers
Chumakov V.G. (Irkutsk National Research Technical University)
Abstract. The paper addresses the application of vibration diagnostics methods for assessing the technical condition of power transformers. It describes common diagnostic methods using piezoelectric contact sensors, highlighting their narrow bandwidth as well as limitations regarding the number of measurement points and localization of faults within the transformer. It is proposed to use non-contact laser vibration measurement devices based on the Doppler effect, which have a broader frequency range. For an integral assessment of the transformer’s condition and to eliminate the need for detailed localization of the vibration source in the transformer’s active part, it is suggested to use a technical condition index of the active part, taking into account vibration level measurements. Field experiments were conducted to measure vibration using a non-contact laser method on 110 kV transformers at an operating substation. A high-frequency component of the recorded signal was identified – the peak factor, presumably caused by the transverse component of the vibration of the magnetic core laminations. A dependence of the vibration parameters and peak factor levels on the transformer’s service life was revealed, enabling the use of these parameters for assessing the technical condition of electrical equipment.
Keywords: transformer vibration diagnostics, magnetostriction, vibration displacement, vibration velocity, vibration acceleration, Doppler measurement techniques, peak factor.
